Missing TeethMissing Teeth

Your teeth were designed to last a lifetime, but sometimes they don’t! Missing teeth can limit a person’s chewing ability and can cause gum disease and bone loss in the remaining teeth due to tipping and shifting because they are now working harder than they were designed to. A person who does not replace missing teeth may permanently alter the shape and contour of their face by over closure of the jaw and changes in muscle tone, giving the face a much older look. Replacing missing teeth is important to your general health and to the health of your other teeth.

Dental implants are small titanium fixtures placed under the gum and serve as the root for teeth. They can be used to replace a single missing tooth or several missing teeth. Implants provide a stable foundation on which Dr. Stevens can attach realistic looking replacement teeth…allowing you to bite, chew and smile with the same confidence you had with your natural teeth. Unlike partial dentures, dental implants are practically indistinguishable from your natural teeth. They are securely attached so that they allow you to chew and speak without the worry of them moving. Healthy adjacent teeth are not touched so their strength and integrity are maintained. Most dentists either place or restore implants. Dr. Stevens does both…providing the comfort and convenience of complete dental care. We offer free implant consults!
A denture is a removable appliance that replaces all upper or lower teeth. With precise impressions and measurements and attention to detail, we are able to create aesthetically pleasing, well fitting dentures. Implant retained dentures are a fantastic option to be considered as the denture will have a much tighter fit and not move around. Ask us about implant retained dentures today!
A partial denture is a removable appliance that replaces multiple missing teeth. In the past, all partials had to have metal clasps to hold them onto remaining teeth. Many times these clasps were visible when a person would talk or smile. With the latest advances in dentistry we are able to replace missing teeth without the use of metal clasps. Precision partials actually lock into place with a snap system built into adjacent teeth and the removable partial. This allows the partial to blend in with the existing teeth, making it undetectable.
